A LOVELY AND 'SUPER CRISP' ROYAL FLYING CORPS (LEATHER FLYING HELMET) By 'HEGARO' of London. Circa 1915-16 & Associated Period Goggles. Helmets in this state of preservation have always been rare as hens' teeth. This is a stunner from my own collection. HEGARO made helmets for the RAF and for Civil Aviation for may years including many "Gosport Tube" types as late as 1940. The goggles are totally perioud and are also in 'crisp' original condition with amber tinted lenses. A CLASSIC DISPLAY PAIRING.

ROYAL FLYING CORPS (LEATHER FLYING HELMET) Circa 1916. A very nice original and un-messed with helmet with a wonderful natural appearance and 95% of its fur and inner fabric. Most of these are real "raggy" and have poppers and studs missing , but this is 100% complete in that regard. This is the 'Classic' "PER ARDUA" helmet worn by many of the RFC's most famous aces in World War I . Seldom seen this original.

A HIGHLY IMPORTANT ROYAL FLYING COPRS OFFICER'S CAP (Belonging to a 56 Squadron "ACE" with 8 kills) Once the uniform cap of the Late 2/Lt Robert Hugh Sloley RFC. Who was Killed in Action on 1st October 1917 by Lt Xavier Dannhuber of Jasta 26. 2/Lt Sloley was a close friend of Captain James Mc Cudden VC ann of Lt Arthur Rhys-Davids and fellow 56 Squadron pilot.

"BATTLE of BRITAIN" GOGGLES (R.A.F.) 1940 (MkIVB),Ref: 22c/167 (Wm Stephens & Sons Ltd. With original Flip Sun Shield�.Totally Complete with the entire Boxed Conversion Kit for fitting these Goggles to the later Leather Helmet, this set even has the original 'bright' copper rivets with which to carry out the work. All in their packet and original outer card box. Also the original leather interior AM stamped lenses case, containing one pair spare slightly tinted lenses,(in orginal paper) + lense wallet, cleaning leather and spare leather strap. This is item is 'a true miracle survivor' complete assembly from the BATTLE OF BRITAIN, 1940. I doubt that there is another one like this anywhere (I don't think the RAF Museum have one this complete) and in over 25 years of serious collecting I've never seen another one as complete as this. If YOU are a serious collector of RAF or BATTLE of BRITAIN items this is for YOU !

R.A.F. FLYING GOGGLES (MkIVB) 1940 "Battle of Britain" Type. A decent pair of these much sought after goggles. This pair has had very little use before being retired. The interior nose pad being being practically unused. The lenses as usual show a fair bit of delamination in a clear bullseye pattern. Rear pads are hard as usual, but of course can be replased if required. All straps and elastics are 100% A1 with a nice clear AM and stores impressment on the strap.
