(Previously took part in a C.G.M. flying action) "" INTERESTINGLY "" the London Gazette for his DFM gives Rolfe's initials as " S.R. " which is incorrect. This originally led us to believe that the initials on the DFM were the wrong way around! ...this has proved not to be the case ....the official naming on the DFM is therefore 100% correct as "1170341 SGT R.S. ROLFE. R.A.F. Also, his promotions are also in the correct name of R.S. ROLFE (He was known as "Reg" and this has been confirmed by his family who have been kind enough to supply copies of the original DFM issue documentation which clearly confirms his initials ar "R.S." ) (*NOTE *) If you are the gentleman who recently enquired about this group you might like to call us back now that the situation with the initials has been fully confirmed as correct !!)
