REED ( 5th Yorks Regt )A young soldier of just 19 who was Killed-in-Action on 25th May 1918 during a night patrol which was caught out by a massive German spring offensive attack causing 15,000 killed. [BIOGRAPHY]George Reed was born in Bowers Gifford, Pitsea, Essex in 1899. He enlisted at Warley into the 9th Training Reserve Bn (West Yorks Regt ) in June of 1917.
