The 2nd Light Dragoons K.G.L. Was a BRITISH UNIT formed of ex-patriot German men and it served as a full part of the British Army in the 3rd Brigade, under Major General William Dornberg and suffered 21 Officers & men killed & 58 wounded at Waterloo.

With general but minor contact marking. On a superb & neatly fitted silver top mount & contemporary silver suspender. A classic and wonderful silversmithing job...clearly the work of an English craftsman!

:NOTE:The old hand written muster roll & War Office Foreign Corps Pay List BOTH confirm the spelling of this man's name as HENRY SCHLOTE. The often referred to modern Naval & Military Press typed/printed roll has his surname spelt "SCHOLTE" which is incorrect. Thus, the old original hand written rolls and the medal itself are 'right' ...the modern book is 'wrong'.
