This is a totally exceptional group which comes with a fabulous set of three very rare and original parchment documents.
(Listed below).

This type of documentary originality is almost impossible to locate these days and I’ve personally never seen anything like these for their originality and interest.
With such early Victorian groups the vast vast majority of these superb original old documents are invariably long gone as these items just don’t survive intact, in this case for 162 years with the medals !

We here at Medals of England, think this is what history is all about.

[BIOGRAPHY] 1821/22 -
George Moore was born in Norwich in Norfolk in 1821/1822 and was a Labourer prior to his enlistment at Chatham, Kent on 21st August 1839 at the age of 18. He served in the army for 21 years & 300 days, of which 9 years & 10 months were served in India. He had four good conduct stripes and while serving with 32nd Foot he acted as “Officer’s servant” to Lieutenant Henry S. Stabb, the regiment’s adjutant.

Upon discharge on 10th June, George is shown as planning to live in Canterbury.

(Battle of Punniar) and an associated silver encasement & conversion from the original “reverse clip” design. When we saw this group we could hardly believe the great rarity and originality of the three hand written supporting documents. These are a truly unique and unrepeatable treasure trove of spotlessly accurate historical details.
