[BIOGRAPHY]
Horace John Neeson was born in Croydon, Surrey in 1896, the son of Horace John Neeson Senior who worked as a Chemists Manager. Father Horace was from County Antrim, Northern Ireland, & Sarah Anne Neeson his mother was from Essex. Horace had two brothers, Thomas and Andrew and a sister Pattie.

Prior to enlistment in The 10th Bn Highland Light Infantry, Horace has been an ironmongers apprentice. In 1911 the Neeson family were all living at No 6, 1st Avenue, Manor Park, London.

Horace went to France on 20th July 1915 to join his unit which had been in France since May. He was sadly killed in action just under nine weeks later on 25th September 1915 on 1st Day of Battle of Loos.

[The 10th HIGHLAND LIGHT INFANTRY]
went into action in the first wave of 28th Brigade's assault on the village of Auchy which was on the British left wing, as part of 9th Division's assault. He was one of almost 650 casualties which were suffered by 10th Battalion, mainly from the withering German machine gun and artillery fire.

He is commemorated with eternal honour on the Loos Memorial.

The Medals are EF, Original & Uncleaned with original ribbons. Plaque, which has two minuscule & non distracting holes at 2 & 10 o’clock comes in its original card holder & interior envelope & Buckingham Palace letter is un-polished & EF
