"On then 27th April 1902, two men were in a small boat which capsised in the Thames opposite the Royal Naval College, Greenwich. The accident took place about 30 yards from the bank in 20 feet of water. At great personal risk , LITTLE swam out and got the men to hold on to the boat, but as soon as they became exhausted , DAVIES swam out and gave assistance 'till they were picked up by a boat"
