AN UNUSUAL AN UNUSUAL ( With a previously unseen original packet of issue dated Italy 28th Nov, 1908.) William John Ellis was born at Rotherhith, London on 1st August 1891. He joined the Royal Navy as a Boy Class II ( HMS GANGES) on 20th May 1907 age 16. Mr Ellis, seen here wearing his Earthquake medal was discharged from the RN as an AB with tuberculosis before The Great War on 4th May 1911, and has no other medal entitlements. Minerve / Messina medal roll copy included.
